Baklava tutorial and bake-off
Saturday, July 22nd 9am -1pm
61 College St (next to Norcross Community Market)
Drop in and out, we'll be making baklava throughout the morning. No cost, just bring your curiosity and a neighborly smile.
Together, we'll dispel the myth that making baklava is hard. I've taught my children and they've helped me make it ever since they could hold a pastry brush. If you can paint (butter the phyllo) and count (the layers), you can make baklava. You'll be able to wow your dinner guests (because no one ever believes it is easy to make). I'll will share my mother's authentic recipe (she grew up in Kolindros, a small Greek village in Macedonia). Throughout the morning, I'll demo the techniques and answer questions. If you want to try hands-on, you can do as little (watch or just try) or as much (cook from beginning to end) as you like. You'll take a piece of already prepared baklava home - just for stopping by (while supplies last). ... See MoreSee Less
